We now have a Photo album! Posted Wednesday, October 24, 2001, 3:14 PM, CDT by Hank I'm pretty sure it's working correctly. I have a few sample pictures loaded if ya wanna take a look. I figured I could make a Category for each family and they could post pictures to it. This one will allow uploading of pictures from your computer right to my site. 4 ways to post pictures: 1) You can e-mail me the pictures and I can post them for you. 2) You can mail me the pictures and I can scan and post them for you 3) Post a link to them in the "Pictures" section of the Bulletin Board and ask me to put them in the Photo Album. -OR- 4) I can give you instructions and a username and password to do it yourself from your computer. You'd need to be somewhat savy at resizing photos to make the thumbnail pictures and the main images be reasonable sizes, but other than that it's easy, and you upload them right from your web browser. Please report any problems you have with with the Photo Album to me and I'll see what I can do. See ya!

Current Features Posted Saturday, October 13, 2001, 7:33 AM, CDT by Hank Well, the site started as a bulletin board, but I always intended to make the site more rounded. Nothing is more interactive than a bulletin board. Then I decided a calendar would also be a good thing. I never remember important dates--EVER. The one I have added seems to work well for now...doesn't do everything I would like it to, but I can always get something else later. I added a form to allow any of you to put in all the dates you know. I'm trying to get that thing packed with birthdays, anniversaries and stuff like that. Don't be shy, it's very easy. If you've already signed up on the bulleting board, then posting stuff on the calendar should be a piece of cake. I want to add genealogy stuff here (Mom, please help me out on that one) and a nice picture gallery with sections for each family. As I finalize work on these, remember I have some forums set up on the board to take whatever info you have right now. In the future I'll try to make thinks as easy as possible, such as uploading pictures directly to the site with you web browser and asking others to participate in posting the news as you see it here, maybe moderate the forums. Yeah, everything seems manageable now, but if you tell two relatives and they tell two relatives--it could get big. Why am I doing this? Well...I got my own domain with my internet service and have wanted to do something productive with it. Being so far from everybody I realized, I get to see everyone even less now. Plus there's a billion relatives I have that I don't even know. So, let me know how you like the site, suggest new things or improvements. This is for all of us. A little hub for catching up on things, saying "Hi", and feeling a little more together.
