Happy Birthday UE and Uncle Gary!

Amiyah had a nice birthday. We are going to go out and do something for it in the next week or so. This weekend is busy. We did have cake and a few presents last night. She actually blew out her candles. She got a Little People airplane and a bunch of new books. She had to look at every book before we had cake. We bought her a water table but decided to give it to her on a warmer day. It was cold last night and will be today. This week looks good though. It should get well into the 70’s. Last week we got into the 80’s a couple of times. She also got a big purple ball but I gave it to her early because she saw me bring it in and I couldn’t wrap it anyway. We have coupons for Chuck E Cheese so we may do that after school this week when it is less busy there. Amiyah loves Chuck E Cheese. We may also do the big indoor playground called Funtastic Park. We will see.
Our dog got spayed. She is not feeling well today. I had her sleep with us last night. I had to correct her when she would try to lick her incision. They put the stitches on the inside and used medical glue on the outside. The vet doesn’t want her to lick it because it could get infected. She has been our shadow since we brought her home from the vet last night. The vet gave her enough pain meds for 2 days.
We have Girl Scout cookie booth today at 2 in front of the BX. I think this may be the last one we do. Ashlyn has sold 303 boxes so far. Some people stop to buy because she is cute or because she yelled “GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!”
Hank and I are going to a Chris Tomlin concert tonight. He is a Christian rock singer. I bought the tickets months ago. I am looking forward to it. We have a coupon for TGI Fridays maybe we will use it and go out to dinner. I know we use a lot of coupons now. I could use more when grocery shopping though.
Hank started his leave yesterday. He went into work though, to work on some projects. He is also going in for a few hours today. I have a dentist apt tomorrow to get a cavity filled and get fitted for a crown. Jordan and Alyssa have a couple small cavities to be filled on Wed. I will try to get a few apt out of the way while Hank is off.
Happy birthday UE and Uncle Gary! And also Happy birthday to my sister-in-law Jenny who’s b-day was yesterday. Her and Amiyah share a birthday. Jenny told me I had better never forget her birthday. I called her yesterday.
Jordan and Alyssa got their mid quarter grades. Alyssa got mostly B’s and an A. Jordan is passing everything except Home Ec, of course.
Ashlyn got in an argument with the next door neighbor girl. She slapped her because the girl wouldn’t let her go first in a game they made up. The girl slapped her back really hard and made her cry. When Ashlyn told Hank what happened Hank said “good I hope it hurt. I would have hit you back too.” She can be a diva. She needs to realize that some people won’t put up with her garbage. I like natural consequences, they make my job easier.
Well I am going to get a shower and get going for the day. We have a long day ahead of us and I still need to get some chores done. Love you all.

Happy Valentines Day late. We were busy running errands yesterday and doing some shopping. Hank got the girls and I teddy bears and a rose. I got chocolate. I felt bad because we weren’t going to do anything special and I hadn’t bought him anything. He didn’t care of course. We have been going back and forth for about a year and a half about buying a Play Station 3. It is a game system that uses Blue Ray technology. We bought a high definition TV last year and we have a video camera that records in high definition. We haven’t been able to watch the home movies because we don’t have a Blue Ray player. We also wanted a PS3 because we like the games Rock Band and Sing Star better on that system. You can download new songs unlike the Wii which is very limited. Yesterday I finally told Hank he cold have his PS3. We went out and bought it and also bought the Rock Band kit. I told him we have a little extra money so he’d better go and get it because it will be a while before we can afford it again. I can now say I out did his Valentines gift. We watched some of our home movies on it last night. They look beautiful. We also played Rock Band. Jordan likes the drums and guitar, So does Hank. Alyssa likes singing and the guitar. The drums are a little hard for her but she will get better. I like to sing. I can do the guitar but haven’t in a while. We will be getting a second guitar soon so 4 of us can play at once. Ashlyn is a little young to play the instruments so she likes to dance while we play. Amiyah likes to sing so we give her a microphone that is not plugged in and she has fun.
Hank and I have to go do Girl Scout cookie booth soon at the BX. Hank doesn’t have to work tomorrow so he will have a nice 3 day weekend with us.
I bought coat hooks for the downstairs and the girl’s room. I always have coats, hats, bags and purses floating around the house because the girls can’t reach to hang them up in the closets. Hank is putting the hooks low so they can reach.
I bought Amiyah a water table for her birthday. I also got her a Little People airplane. She likes Little People. She got a house and school bus for Christmas. I won’t buy her much. She gets a lot of toys handed down from her sisters.
My sister-in-law Jenny mailed me a box of maternity clothes so I should get those in the next week. We have taken turns with them for a couple of kids now. We add things each time so we have quite a wardrobe now.
We had pastries at school with the girls on Friday morning. We had to get up early to get there buy 7am. They had a good time. Hank took Jordan and the girls to skate night on Wed. They all love going to that. I got some much needed housework done. I have more energy in the evenings but they are all usually home so I don’t bother trying to clean around them.
I cleaned out the laundry room and moved the computer into it on Friday afternoon. Don’t worry the desk has wheels and Jordan helped. This freed some space in my dinning room. We are trying to make space where we can. We will probably be in this house for a while before we get to the top of the 5 bedroom waiting list.
I had my 20 week ultra sound Thursday. He is still a boy and he looks great. He was somewhat uncooperative for the tech. I though of course he is he is my child.
Well I am going to take a shower before I go peddle those demon cookies. Love you all.

Happy Birthday Ashlyn!

Ashlyn had a great birthday. We started off by having breakfast at Cracker Barrel. It is a southern resteraunt chain that has a big country store inside. The kids LOVE it. We look around in the store while we wait for our table. Ashlyn was aloud to get 1 thing. Out of all the items they had she wanted a new purse. She got a pink and silver sparkle purse. Hank and I thought this was very Ashlyn.
We then went to the drive though safari. Most of the animals were lying around or eating their hay so they were uninterested in us. We did get to feed some emus, ostriches, lamas and some big deer like animals. I hate the big birds so that was fun and of coarse Hank got it on video. The ostriches can be a little to friendly. Even though a lot of the animals didn’t come right up to the van we still got a good look at them. There was also a petting zoo where you could pet little goats. Amiyah was running around petting every single goat. If the goat walked away from her she would chase it down. We then went to the gift shop. Alyssa and Ashlyn each got a mood necklace. We also bought them a kit that had all kinds of plastic animal parts so you can create your animals.
Next we went to Natural Bridge Caverns. We took a tour of the caverns. It was really cool. I carried Amiyah most of the tour until we had to walk back up. She had fallen asleep by this point so I was able to let Hank carry her up. The girls had a great time. We have been inside caverns in Okinawa but Ashlyn was Amiyah’s age and Alyssa doesn’t really remember. After the caverns we went to the gift shop and let the girls each get a bag of stones. They had hundreds of pretty polished stones to pick through. Then we bought a big bag of dirt with gems hidden inside. You take the dirt and go to the mining area. They have a long wooden water table that had water flowing through it. You poor your dirt in the little screens and let the water wash away the dirt. There were little pretty rocks and gravel left you then pick out the good stuff. Hank and the girls LOVED this part.
We went to dinner after this at Golden Coral. This is a buffet place that Ashlyn likes a lot. Jordan stayed home. He didn’t want to get up and get ready early on a weekend. We came home and had cupcakes and she opened her presents. She got a few toys and some jewelry and hair accessories. She also got lip gloss and nail polish witch she has been begging for. All and all, a good birthday. Ashlyn is now our 6 year old girl. Hank said Ashlyn is lucky to have her birthday during tax return time. Amiyah’s birthday is on the 21st. Hers will be smaller since she is turning 2 and won’t remember anyway.
The puppies have been re-housed and are doing great. We sold them to a woman named Kathy who lives about an hour from here. She is keeping 2 and her sister is keeping 2 and her parents are getting 1. She gave one to a friend of hers son who’s dog died a few weeks ago. The boy is Alyssa’s age. Kathy has been emailing me regularly to update me on the puppies and let me know how they are adjusting. She is keeping all of the puppies for a week or two to see which 2 she wants to keep before letting her family choose theirs. We do miss them from time to time but I am VERY happy to have passed the responsibility off to someone else. NO MORE PUPPY POOP, WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!
Our dog Ginger had to go to the vet. She had kennel cough. We do have a lot of dogs in our neighborhood and we have a jogging path behind our house, so she was probably exposed that way. The puppies are not sick so far, so that is good. She was given antibiotics and some other pill and is now a new dog. Hank and Alyssa are the ones that took her to the vet. Hank also got all of her shots updated and put her on heartworm prevention. We now have to get her spayed. We have really seen her personality come out now that she is no longer pregnant or nursing. She plays with her dog toys and runs around with the kids. She is a great dog.
I had to do the Girl Scout cookie booth while Hank took the dog to the vet. He had to do it the next day. I think we only have one more weekend left and then we are done with cookies.
Ashlyn has a field trip this week to the rodeo. I have my 20 week ultrasound on Thursday. We also have Valentines day so I have to help Ashlyn with her class valentines. Alyssa filled out her own this year so that was helpful.
I am learning to delegate some of the things that need to be done to other capable people in our household. When we were getting ready for Ashlyn’s birthday outing, I had Alyssa clean out the van and pack our snacks. She seemed to enjoy doing it. I think it made her feel grown up. I have been trying to grasp this concept for a while. I think when you have 1or 2 kids you can take on most of the work but with a larger family you have to pass the work around. I just need to teach them to do laundry. Jordan can be helpful. I even have him run to the commissary from time to time if I need something right now. He also baby-sits. He has set chores like trash and unloading the dishwasher. I need to give Alyssa and Ashlyn regular chores.
Hank finished his SNCO seminar and is back to work this week. He wasn’t looking forward to going in this morning because he knew he had a lot to catch up on. He may take some leave so he can finish his training coarse online before he puts on MSgt. We also have a few appointments and things that would be easier if he were off for a few weeks. We will see if he can get some time off. Well I need to change Amiyah stinky pants and get some housework done. Love you all.
