Happy Birthday to a couple of the coolest relatives I have--Uncle Gary and Uncle Ed.

Ashlyn is two weeks old today
Posted Friday, February 21, 2003, 2:23 AM, CST by Dawn
Ashlyn had her two-week check-up today. The doctor said she is healthy and growing normally. She's sleeping pretty good at night and we are not as sleep-deprived as with our other kids at this age. Alyssa is handling the new baby pretty well. Jordan is helpful by taking care of Alyssa. He gets her breakfast some mornings and reads to her some nights when I'm working; He also plays with her so she doesn't feel left out when our attention is on the baby. I'd like to give a shout out to the inventors of take-out and delivery, disposable diapers, and paper dishes. These should get us though the next couple of months. Hank is posting a couple more pictures we took today.

Ashlyn's name has been finalized as Ashlyn Dawn Scott. Nothin' personal against Mom, just thought it flowed better.

Ashlyn Kaya Scott was born this morning, 8 February, 2003, at Camp Lester Naval Hospital, Okinawa Japan. She weighed in at 9 lbs. and is 21 inches long.

Dawn's water broke at 2:00am this morning and we got to the hospital at 2:49. Ashlyn was born at 2:54. Basically, it took about 5 minutes of pushing! This sounds good but it wasn't. There was no time for drugs, local anesthetic, an episiotomy, or anything! Compared to our other two kids, she says this was the worst pain she's ever felt.

The baby is healthy and has no problems and Dawn is also doing fine. I'm gonna post pictures right after I post this message so go look!

Space Shuttle Columbia Explodes

I was at work when this happened. This is so sad. Like we haven't had enough tragedy to worry about lately. I still remember when the Challenger exploded shortly after departure. I hope they find enough information to determine the cause of this one. I hope the families of the lost crew are gonna be okay. What a horrible loss.
