I got it over ICQ and tried it last night. I turned out perfect. Thanks Mom.

quote:
1lb. beef stew and cut into smaller pieces.

Salt, pepper, and a little garlic powder. Roll in flour.

In dutch oven pot put 3 tlbs of shortening preferrably (I seared the meat in the bottom of the pot here)

Add 8-12 cups of water and 1/2 cup chopped onion.

Bring to boil and cover and turn down to simmer.

Cook for about an hour. then add 6 medium sized potatoes cut into 1 inch portions, 6 carrots peeled and sliced and 4 stalks of celery cut into 1/2 inch slices.

Add 2 packages of Aus gus seasoning mix and 8 buillion cubes. Stir all together and cover and cook until potatoes and carrots are tender. About 30 to 45 mins. Hope this turns out well. Love, Mom

Buttercream Icing: 1\2 c.crisco, 1\2 c.butter,1 tsp. vanilla, 4 c. confectioner sugar, 2 T. milk. In large mixing bowl combine butter and shortening with elec. mixer. Add vanilla. Gradually add sugar one cup at a time. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry. Add milk and beat at high speed until light and fluffy. Keep icing covered with a damp cloth until you're ready to decorate. Keep icing bowl refrigerated when not in use. Divide down into smaller bowls to add color. While using it in the decorator bag if shapes do not stay it probably is too warm and needs to be refrigerated for awhile. If it is too cold sometimes it is hard to get out of the bag so just be patient. Enjoy, Love, Mom [*]null
